Prince Harry has arrived in the UK without his wife Meghan Markle, with the Duke of Sussex having flown solo to his home country of the United Kingdom.

The Duke of Sussex has made the trip from the States to England for an Invictus Games event in the capital city of his former home country. Flying solo and without his wife, Harry is now in the UK alone to celebrate the Invictus Games.

ITV's royal editor From Chris Ship confirmed at 1pm this afternoon: "Prince Harry is in the UK. He landed here ahead of his St Paul’s Cathedral service tomorrow to mark 10 years of the @WeAreInvictus which he founded in 2014. He’s doing some Invictus related events today.

The Duke of Sussex has departed America

"Prince Harry travelled to the UK alone - without Meghan or the children Archie and Lilibet. Meghan will not accompany Harry to the St Paul’s Cathedral in London tomorrow. But she will be with Harry for their visit to Nigeria later this week."

Harry is scheduled to give a reading during the event on May 8. The service will take place at St Paul's Cathedral, the same place his parents got married. Meghan has turned down her invitation to the event after she was warned by veterans that the Invictus Games 'lost meaning' with her involvement.

As well as Prince Harry set to give a reading during the service, actor Damian Lewis will also recite a poem. The Duke of Sussex was last seen in the UK in February for a brief visit to see King Charles after his cancer diagnosis, with this visit to the UK his first since learning of Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis.

The service held in the city is for the Invictus Games' 10th anniversary. Prince Harry co-founded the international multi-sport event first held in 2014. The games are for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans.

In recent years, the Duke of Sussex has kept his distance from the United Kingdom, which follows on from him and his wife Meghan stepping back as senior working royals in 2020. Shortly after they revealed they would be stepping back, the couple decided to move from their home in Windsor, England to Montecito in California.

Since moving across the pond, the couple have built up their brand, with them taking part in various projects. Since departing the Royal Family, the couple has teamed up with the likes of Spotify, Penguin Random House, and Netflix.

With two new Netflix shows in the works, one about polo and one about gardening and cookery, the couple are currently working hard on making names for themselves in Hollywood. Meghan is even working on hard-launching her own lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
