On the show Yellowstone, the Dutton family fought to save their ranch from corporations and billionaires. Even though the show is based in Montana, the same situation is happening in Wyoming.

The largest land owner in Wyoming is businessman Stan Kroenke, the owner of the Denver Nuggets & Avalanche, Colorado Crush, LA Rams, and other sports franchises. He owns 1.7 MILLION acres of land in the US, including Wyoming and Montana.

It seems another billionaire connected to a major sports franchise is trying to take over parts of Wyoming, and it's happening. Joe Ricketts, who founded TD Ameritrade and connected to the Chicago Cubs, has purchased the White Pines Ski Resort in Pinedale. According to reports in the Pinedale Roundup, Ricketts was to take ownership at the end of April.

Ricketts, who owns the Jackson Fork Ranch near Bondurant, WY, has been trying to transform parts of Sublette County into "Little Jackson Hole." He has been buying up parts of the Upper Hoback Valley around Bondurant and turning the Jackson Fork into a luxury resort. It seems his plans are moving forward, and they will come true with the addition of White Pines.
