National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Prepping for Video Production

Government Contract Announcement for Installation of and Support in new Video Studio

Silver Spring, Maryland, Jan. 22, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a bureau of the Department of Commerce, issued a notice today for a contractor to install audio/video equipment on the ninth floor of their National Ocean Service (NOS) Facility in Silver Spring, Maryland. The contractor is only responsible for installation and technical support for the first year of service, not for purchasing any hardware or software. The deadline for a business to submit an offer to the government is February 7, 2018.

The equipment will be primarily used to produce and edit videos that support the mission of NOS. They have already received consultation on the hardware and software needed to create their 1,389 square-foot video studio space and seek a qualified firm to install, configure and test equipment that ranges from video editing and vocal recording equipment to robotic cameras and green screens.

Installation of the equipment kicks-off the contract and providing support for at least the first year will be the bulk of the period of performance. There is a possibility that the government will extend the contract to four additional years if all options are exercised.

The complete layout of the video studio plan can be found on the website where federal business opportunities are posted, FBO.gov. The solicitation on FBO.gov contains all the specifics for what the government is looking for when they ask for qualified contractors.

The agency will base their contract award on the lowest offer technically acceptable by a firm that demonstrates that they are qualified. Every solicitation is unique, but in general there are some basic elements on any offer that a business should have assembled. Third-party registration firm, US Federal Contractor Registration is able to help businesses compile all of this information to submit the best possible offer.

US Federal Contractor Registration (USFCR) is the world’s largest third-party government registration firm. They not only register companies on their behalf in the government's mandatory System for Award Management, but also have pioneered the Advanced Procurement Portal (APP). APP provides active and historical federal business opportunity information and a list of active federal buyers and vendors. The synthesis of this data will simplify the federal procurement process for businesses who may then dedicate their complete effort toward their performance on the contract instead of the acquisition of it.  APP also includes a built-in Learning Center designed by industry professionals so that newcomers to the federal sector can efficiently locate opportunities and effectively bid on them.
